CHARTER DAY
March 13th12:00 pm - 4:00 pm- FREE (Donations to preserve Brandywine gratefully accepted) Charter Day marks the anniversary of the granting of Pennsylvania to Wm. Penn from the King of England. This is our first event, of a soon to be event-filled year! We have a variety of activities for you, your family & friends to enjoy. We'll have tours throughout the day as well as a number of other activities pertaining to 18th century life in our area. Watch history come alive with a brand new map presentation, complete with troop movements on the day of the battle. Beginning with the first skirmish, concluding with the last shot fired & eventual withdrawal from the field that evening. Read what Washington wrote to the Continental Congress late that night regarding the battle.
